Unfortunately, a lot of the tickets went to people who have no intention on going. The culture of ticket scalping has really gotten out of control. It takes the fun out of being a fan when you know you might get shut out from getting tickets because some 50 year-old dude who sits at home trolling ticket sales has snatched them all up and will sell them back to you for 4 times face value. You have to be fucking rich to see shows! I paid over 100 dollars twice to see Coldplay, and that was just some normal person selling tickets they couldn’t use, not the malevolent scalper scumbags. If I were a kid right now I’d be so fucked. I could barely save my money to get 50 dollar Nsync tickets in high school. Bands really need to start cracking down on this bullshit. I bought my NIN ticket through the NIN.com website presale, and they were will call only, with your name printed on the ticket and you needed photo ID to pick them up.  Miley Cyrus’ new tour will have paperless tickets, meaning you have to have the credit card used to buy the tickets to get in. Sure, these kind of systems suck when something comes up and you can’t go to a show and want to sell your ticket, but I think I’d much rather be out 50 bucks for one show knowing future shows I try to get tickets for will actually HAVE some fucking tickets available. That being said, anyone wanna buy a Virgin Free Fest ticket?
