Comics, comics,comics.

My recent shipment was huge. HUGE! Lots of good stuff too. I’ve only read a few. Below I’ve posted a pie chart showing the parts of my buy that were Marvel, Marvel’s Dark Reigns, and DC.

I’ve always been a Marvel zombie, but I’ve never been an event psycho. Meaning, I don’t have to buy every tie-in issue. I usually get whatever sounds good, something that’s easier to do in the internet age. I’ve never felt pressured to buy extra issues, because I could easily judge what books looked interesting and which ones’ don’t.

So why is 41% of my comics order Dark Reign. Dark Reign isn’t an event, its a status quo. If you see a book with Dark Reign at the top, it means that Norman Osborn is going to be in it somewhere.

Quick hits!

Ultimate Spider-man Requiem: Bendis work on USM is the only shining light in the mess that is Ultimatium.
Captain America #600: Burbaker and Stern shine in their individual stories. I’m still annoyed at the concept for Reborn, though.
Uncanny X-Men: Meh. I think I’m going to cut this title.
Green Lantern: The art sucks and really detracted from the story. Let’s get Blackest Night going!
Secret Warriors: Mega-meh.
Dark Avengers: This title is so much fun. This issue marks the first moment we’ve seen Norman Osborn get shaken up. When all of this Dark Reign stuff plays out, I’m going to re-read this issue.
