In this scene, the New Avengers are arguing about whether or not they should kill Norman Osborn, the former Green Goblin and current Director of H.A.M.M.E.R., who is making life hell for most of the Marvel Universe.
Specifically, Clint Barton, formerlly known as Hawkeye, wants to do it. So does Ms. Marvel. They view the situation as more than just heroes vs. villains, but as a war, and the normal rules change when you are at war.
Spider-man is loudest voice in the discussion and unequivocally does not want to kill Norman Osborn. He threatens to quit the team. He can’t even see Barton’s point of view. He doesn’t even try. He digs his feet into the ground and doesn’t waiver for one second.
Then, as you can read above, Spider-man tells Clint Barton how it is. A tremendous moment and one that, in an odd way, mirrors some of my feelings about the economic crisis.
I didn’t find this image online. I scanned it myself. That’s how much I wanted to share it.
