… will hopefully breathe a sigh of relief and get on with their blankin’ lives with yesterday’s news that Obama has jettisoned his increasingly wacky former minister.
Nevermind that the GOP nominee reversed himself and made nice with some folks who are every bit as outrageous as Reverand Wright on his worst day.
This is a silly story mainly because, rather than having a mature conversation on race, we’re once again in Celebrity Death Match mode.
I agree with you on a lot of this CTCF, but Obama has been listening to Wright’s crazy for twenty years. Twenty! I’m sure he disagreed with alot of what the Rev. had to say, but he kept putting change in the collection plate.
I don’t think Obama believes the USA created AIDS or that we deserved 9/11, but he’s contributed every Sunday to a man who does believe that.
By the way, Wright’s a vindictive piece of shit who may have ruined the first black presidency of United States. This is how he repays Obama for his (famous) speech about race? By spending a week acting like a clown, ensuring non-stop rotation from every news source in the country?
Wright’s an ignorant fool who’s lived too long in the tunnel vision of pleasing the ‘black church’ (whatever the fuck that means) for too long to have any relevant opinions about why the grass is green, let alone on the state of race in modern America.
Like some mayors I know, Reverend Wright is an agent of hate who works to keep people separated — to keep us afraid of one another, because keeping whites and blacks from finding common ground and common solutions has a tendency to keep the money flowing, and I imagine Wright’s been rolling in Cadillacs for many years now.
