Greg Land isn’t the strongest storyteller in his art, but damn, he can make a pretty page.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STAN LEE! 89 years young and still as sharp as ever!
Happy birthday Stan!

I came home to a huge pile of comics and after reading I just had to come on and tell you all that Wolverine and the X-Men is my new favorite comic. Each issue has had a big ol’ pile of fun. It’s one of those books that reminds me why I love comics and I can’t recommend it enough.
In Avengers and New Avengers, Brian Michael Bendis continues to write entertaining, character driven stories about Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Norman Osborn is plaguing both teams and both books have been entertaining, especially after the boring run of Fear Itself tie-ins. One thing, Daniel Acuna’s artwork is not working on this book. At all. Not even a little. It didn’t work for me on Amazing Spider-man either. I really hope he goes away.
Justice League #4 was good. Miles Morales’ origin is finally finished in Ultimate Spider-man. Catwoman continues to be a fun read.
INCREDIBLE HULK #378 is a classic! We also need more “Santa with a crowbar” covers.

Random thought about controversial Amazing Spider-man story, One More Day
Do you want to read a comic book about Spider-man or Everybody Loves Raymond?
Laughed out loud.
“If you’re thinking about initiating a friend into the mysteries of the DC Universe, you’re probably better off picking up a trade paperback collection of an individual series you think they’d like (when the first compilations come out in 2012), as opposed to a rather expensive mixed bag that could potentially serve as a murder weapon in a comics-themed episode of CSI.”
