WE ARE GOLDEN: DC and Marvel, you're shit is just too goddamn intimidating for new fans!
Where do you begin if you want to get into the original Avengers?
How about Batman?
Spiderman?
The Justice League?
WHERE THE HELL DO YOU START?
Aside from the fact that webcomics are FREE- webcomics are available to any fan who takes interest. I’ve heard interested fans say over and over…
If you can afford it, you start 30, 40, 50, 60 years ago when the books first premiered. If you can’t afford it, you can wait for one of the many “jumping on” points that happen in modern comics. For instance, with Amazing Spider-man, you could have started with ASM #666, when the fantastic Spider-Island started. Will you have ever detail of the characters involved? No. Many of these characters are decades old, but with the right writer, you can get right into the story and start moving along with the character and their newest adventures.
Or you could ask for help a comic book store guy.
Or you could ask for help on a comic book message board.
Or you could ask your tumblr followers.
Or read Wikipedia which has EXTENSIVE histories of many comic book character’s lives.
Or forget everything before hand and only buy comics in the new DC 52 which is a complete restart of their histories.
Or just fucking deal with it. Don’t use your computer savvy to steal other people’s hard work. Don’t justify your theft as some flaw within the comic book companies. They have resources out there for new readers. Wikipedia is free! Use these tools and dump the torrents.

Wait for the Trade: DC to Publish 1,200-Page Collection of 'New 52' Issues -- $150
Still not sure which new, #1’s I’m going to buy. I’m collecting Green Lantern, so those will go into the pull list, but I haven’t figured out which new books to try.
plus, there is a really creepy walt whitman quote on the apocalyptic-looking entrance. here is how you go in.
Again…Walt Whitman quote…did I mention it was a gay neighborhood?
Awwww man, this makes me miss my old city, my old neighborhood, my old Metro entrance. I love the feeling of going down through a vertical cylinder and then into a smaller canted one. And coming out of it, the sky opening up.
The quote is from Leaves of Grass and it’s about caring for the suffering. It was installed a few years ago as a dedication to HIV/AIDS caregivers.
It’s not creepy. It’s wonderful.
Thus in silence in dreams’ projections,
Returning, resuming, I thread my way through the hospitals;
The hurt and wounded I pacify with soothing hand,
I sit by the restless all dark night – some are so young;
Some suffer so much – I recall the experience sweet and sad…
I believe that two of these escalators are under repair and are not expected to resume functioning until the fall.

Good to know for those of us who travel via bus lines often or, like me, practically exclusively.

I am so fucking tired of the H line of buses. I’m either waiting twenty minutes cause they’re late or 40 cause they’re early. FUCKERS!
